Rules & Conditions

Who can apply?

  • WSA-mobile is open to any company, organization or individual in the content industry in any UN and UNESCO member state.

Application & Submission of projects to WSA mobile

  • The ONLY way to take part is to (1) be nominated by a national expert, (2) be nominated by a National WSA-mobile Committee that was established by a national expert, or (3) win a national WSA-mobile pre-selection contest.
  • The same project cannot be submitted twice (i.e. submitted again).
  • A product can only be submitted for one category. In case of multiple submissions by the same organization, company, or team, each product requires a separate registration.
  • Submitting a product to the evaluation and selection process does by no meas entitle a producer to any benefits. There is no way of challenging this decision legally.

Which Projects are Suitable?

  • Submitted apps for WSA-mobile can be available on any mobile device and mobile platform, including SMS services on feature phones.
  • There is no limitation regarding the platforms or channels the projects work with.
  • All entries have to be real products. No drafts, dmeonstrations or unfinished projects can be accepted.
  • All projects must have been completed after January 1, 2014.

Language

  • The interface of the products can be in any language. However, the producer and project information must be in English.

Category Switch

  • The WSA-mobile jury has the right to switch submisisons from one category to another if the category chosen by the expert is recognized as not suitable. Category switches can be made without notice.

Winners Selection

  • The WSA-mobile jury selects 5 winners in each of the award categories. The selection of winners has to be approved by the WSA Board of Directors.

Exclusions & Disqualifications of sumbissions from the WSA mobile process

  • Contents in the entries for the WSA-mobile award have to abide by the rules and regulations mentioned in the UN Declaration on Human Rights. Submissions therefore which encourage war, the exercise of violence, fraud, racism, or discrimination will not be accepted and will be eliminted from the jury process. Similarly, submissions that violate international copyright provsions will be excluded from the jury process.
  • Incomplete submissions and those not following the WSA-mobile guidelines will be withdrawn from the WSA-mobile selection process without notice. There is no way of challenging such a decision legally.
  • The WSA-mobile organizers have the right to reject submission/entry without providing any further reason. The WSA Organizers cannot be held liable for accepting of submissions or their contents and rights.

WSA mobile exploitation rights and copy rights

  • By submitting a project to WSA-mobile, producers provide the WSA office with exploitation rights for the submitted videos, pictures and other content for non-commercial use for the promotion of the nominated product, presented in print, broadcast and any other forms of media, as well as for events
  • None of the materials submitted will be returned. One copy/version of each product submitted will be kept in the WSA archive. No commercial use of this archive will be made.
  • The producer must own the copyright of all pictures, sounds, contents, etc. related to the production of his project. All software used must be licensed.
