Kel Smith is a longtime speaker, author and practitioner on digital innovation and mobile health. His articles have appeared in numerous publications including the Pentagon Library, Springer-Verlag, the International Journal of E-Politics, the E-Access Bulletin, and UX Magazine. The Pentagon Library, the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, and Kent State’s Knowledge Management Program have cited his academic work in web accessibility.

Kel's presentation credits include appearances in North America and Europe, spanning nearly thirty cities in six countries. Credits include the CSUN Conference for Persons with Disabilities (San Diego), the Interaction Design Association (Dublin), the Royal National Institute of the Blind (London), the Unitech ICT Network (Oslo), the Society for Technical Communications (Sacramento), the World Future Society (Vancouver) and the Universitat Autònoma (Barcelona). Kel also delivered the keynote address at the Knowbility John Slatin AccessU Summit in 2012.
Kel’s professional experience includes leading the Havas Worldwide Health digital accessibility practice, as well as forming his own technology startup in 2008. He is currently working on a suite of mobile offerings that embrace the consumer habits of disenfranchised populations. 
Kel is the author of the book Digital Outcasts: Moving Technology Forward Without Leaving People Behind, slated for a 2013 release. He lives and works in Philadelphia and New York City.
