The World Summit Award announces the 97 international projects chosen by the WSA Online Jury to go to the second round of evaluation. Selected from 386 nominations from 86 countries, these 97 digital innovations will now be evaluated by the WSA Grand Jury, that steps together in Baku, Azerbaijan, September 17-20. DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS AUGUST 2, 2015 The World Summit Award selects and promotes the world’s best e-Content and innovative information and communication technology applications. The award is partnered with the key United Nations organizations and agencies; to date more than 178 countries are actively involved.
In 2015 World Summit Award received 386 nominations from 86 UN member states. They were selected from the WSA experts network through a democratic and highly competitive evaluation process and represent the best and most innovative solutions world-wide. They demonstrate how mobile and internet applications can tackle social challenges, and have a strong local impact in the fields of health, education, environment, government or inclusion.
